By Ntt Communications Corporation, PRNETuesday, July 6, 2010
TOKYO, July 7, 2010 - NTT Communications (NTT Com) announced on July 7 that its subsidiary, NTT
Communications (Thailand) Co., Ltd., has begun operating a branch office in
Phnom Penh, Cambodia, effective immediately. Headed by the concurrent
president of NTT Communications (Thailand), Tsuyoshi Kawashima, the Phnom
Penh Branch will provide multinational companies in Cambodia with ICT
solutions from NTT Com.
NTT Com is the first Japanese telecommunications company to set up a
branch in Cambodia, where telecommunication infrastructure is now being
developed.
Multinational companies from Asia, Europe and the U.S., including 47
firms from Japan at present, are becoming increasingly active in Cambodia.
The country, together with Thailand and Vietnam, is part of the Greater
Mekong subregion, which is now linked by the Southern Economic Corridor, part
of a series of new highways facilitating commerce throughout Indochina.
Multinationals believe the Cambodian economy has potential for growth,
including as a base for manufacturing and target marketing. NTT Com expects
to provide these companies with highly professional integrated ICT services
based on its extensive experience in South East Asia.
The addition of the Phnom Penh Branch expands NTT Com's network of
subsidiaries and offices to 67 cities in 25 countries/regions. NTT Com also
plans to set up NTT Communications (Thailand)'s branch office in Ayutthaya,
Thailand, in August.
