SWALMEN, The Netherlands, February 1, 2011 - The world's most sustainable washroom was on show at the Facilities
Exhibition in the Brabant Halls in Den Bosch, the Netherlands. Van Houtum,
based in Swalmen, the Netherlands, used the event to present a completely
equipped washroom, supplied with certified cradle-to-cradle hygienic paper,
hand soap and hand foam.

The Facilities Exhibition is aimed at professions involved with providing
Technical Services to commercial enterprises, education, healthcare and the
government.
Albert Mey, Washroom Concept Manager at Van Houtum, is enthusiastic about
the presentation of the sustainable washroom. "Above all we wanted to use the
event to showcase our products, which are trailblazing in the area of
Corporate Social Responsibility. This is what sets us apart from other
providers. Up to now the Satino Black range consisted of toilet paper and
paper towels. Now it embraces hand soap and hand foam. Everything is
certified cradle-to-cradle and CO2-neutrally produced."
Black Satino Black dispensers
"The new Satino Black dispensers were also rolled out at the Trades
fair," Mey adds. "These are made of recycled plastic, an innovation in this
sector. The prestigious matte, anthracite black finish is entirely in keeping
with the trend in modern interiors. The client can at the same time choose:
whether we remain the owners of the dispensers or whether the client prefers
a residual value guarantee as a stimulus to return old equipment to us again.
This fits in perfectly with our endeavours to improve our environmental
performance by closing the material recycling loop. Further, when we install
the new washroom facility for our clients, our installing technician takes
the old dispensers with him. These don't end up in the garbage container, but
are fed into the recycling process. All old dispensers - regardless of the
brand - are recycled in a high quality process in which a pure starting
material is recovered. The end customer has one less thing to worry about and
he saves costs." Cradle-to-cradle certification is pending for the Satino
Black dispensers.
