Third Annual Game Developers Conference(TM) China Concludes With Record Breaking Attendance

SHANGHAI, December 16, 2010 - UBM TechWeb Game Network's third annual Game Developers Conference(TM)
China (GDC China) concluded last week on Tuesday, December 7 at the Shanghai
International Convention Center. GDC China, the only official developer event
supported by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China,
welcomed a record breaking 3,300 international attendees over three days of
learning, networking, and inspiration. The conference hosted over 40
international speakers, 50 sponsors and exhibitors, and the second annual
Independent Games Festival China-furthering the education and business
opportunities for developers and game professionals in the East.

The content of GDC China 2010 focused on Global Game Development and
Online Game Development and Business. The conference also hosted specialized
summits for Social Games, Independent Games, Serious Games, and Mobile Games.
Highlights of the conference include keynote addresses given by Square Enix
senior vice president Hiromichi Tanaka and Bill Roper, the former chief
creative officer of Cryptic, as well as talks from developers and producers
of League of Legends, Angry Birds, Marvel Super Hero Squad, Eve Online, Red
Faction, Monaco, Enemy Airship, Plants vs. Zombies, My Fishbowl, and many
more.

GDC China also hosted the 2nd Annual Independent Games Festival China
showcasing 12 representatives of the best independent games produced in the
region. Winners in the competition include:

    - Best Game: Sugar Cube (Turtle Cream, South Korea)
    - Best Mobile Game: Train Conductor 2 (The Voxel Agents, Australia)
    - Excellence In Audio: Skillz: The DJ Game (Playpen Studios, Hong Kong)
    - Excellence In Visual Arts: ButaVX: Justice Fighter (Nekomura Games,
      Singapore)
    - Best Student Game: The White Laboratory (Huazhong University of Science
      & Technology, China)
    - Excellent Student Award: Dead Steel (Media Design School, Auckland, New
      Zealand)
    - Excellent Student Award: Ponlai (National Yunlin University of Science
      and Technology, Taiwan)
